ManTech has broad experience in flight hardware design, assembly, handling and integration. ManTech developed the first large scale Capillary Pumped Loop (CAPL) thermal system flown in space. This two-phase loop uses capillary forces and the latent heat of vaporization to transfer heat from an instrument to a radiator sink. Prototypes flown aboard STS-60 and 69 led to development of the upgraded CAPL to be flown on the Earth Observing System satellite.
