The unparalleled efficiency and lower labor costs associated
with Electronic Commerce (EC) and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) has created a shift
from paper-based business transactions to EC. Large and small businesses, government
agencies, and international enterprises are shifting to electronic commerce for their
buying, selling, bidding, contracting, etc.
ManTechs Enterprise Integration Center (e-IC) is
instrumental in researching and developing EC technologies to enable a streamlined
government-wide automated electronic commerce infrastructure. Our core team of EC
professionals possess a wide-breadth of knowledge and experience built upon a philosophy
of open systems and standards to ensure the flow of interoperable, secure, and reliable
business transactions worldwide. The ManTech Enterprise
Integration Center EC team includes professionally trained personnel with direct
experience using the Mercator for EC tool suite as well as other leading COTS tools.
Our core team provides both the government and industry with
a wide range of technology, business, and related experience in the field of EC/EDI. Our
EC/EDI team is currently involved in the following activities:

Current projects include:
 | Developing a pilot system and plan for implementing
electronic foreign customs interfaces in eleven countries. This
technology requires a strong IT background and a precise understanding of electronic
commerce infrastructure components. |
 | Pilot testing of UN/EDIFACT Orders Message. This effort
demands expertise in both ANSI X12 and UN/EDIFACT
standards analysis,
mapping, semantic assessment, value-added networks, the government electronic commerce
infrastructure, and emerging Internet electronic commerce technologies. |
 | Semantic equivalency assessment and migration analysis in
support of the Defense Fuels Supply Center. Involves dual use of both the ANSI X12 and UN/EDIFACT EDI standards in tandem. |
 | Concept assistance in defining information services based on
object-oriented technology for realizing an Integrated Data Environment (IDE) between
government and industry. |
 | Concept formulation and pilot demonstration testing based on
the Internet, multimedia tools, and a range of services to facilitate collaboration on
EC/EDI strategy and issues. |
 | Information modeling, business process improvement, and
