InfoChess OnLine InfoChess Online

InfoChess® OnLine is an engaging game of strategy and deceit that has captured the interest of some of the most prestigious strategists, tacticians, negotiators, creative thinkers and gamers throughout the United States and abroad.

Automating our popular board game of InfoChess®, ManTech's National Security Solutions Group has taken the ancient wargame of chess to new levels. InfoChess® OnLine now uses the exciting nature of online gaming to deliver an informative and exciting learning experience.

The Information Competition
The key to InfoChess® OnLine is the cunning use of Information Operations (IO) resources (such as psychological operations, military deception, operations security, electronic warfare and intelligence) to gain information dominance over your opponent, because intentions, game pieces, and movement may not be as they appear. Players use their IO wargaming skills to gain the competitive advantage needed to influence and defeat their opponent. InfoChess® teaches you, as a leader, how to apply IO to shape your competitor’s perception of the battlespace and how a competitor’s IO can affect your perception.

InfoChess® OnLine provides a platform for instructors, planners or operators to increase their IO skills, and a chance for gamers and chess players to enjoy an exciting new variant of chess that will challenge their strategic skills!

About InfoChess®
By adding a few specialized rules to the ancient wargame of chess, we have developed a new boardgame that provides a cost-effective means for raising awareness and educating strategists, tacticians, negotiators, and creative thinkers about information operations.

InfoChess® combines the tangible nature of boardgames, the baseline knowledge of chess in our population, collaborative (team-based) exploration, and the low cost of using chess as an educational aid to deliver an informative and exciting learning experience.

In the game of InfoChess®, you actively use information operations to gain the competitive advantage needed to attain your objectives. The key to InfoChess® is the cunning use of resources to gain information dominance over your opponent.

Strategic Simulation and Wargaming
The board game credibly teaches the principles of Command and Control Warfare (C2W). According to joint doctrine, C2W is the integrated use of psychological operations (PSYOP), military deception, operations security (OPSEC), electronic warfare (EW), and physical destruction, mutually supported by intelligence, to deny information to, influence, degrade, or destroy an adversary’s C2 capabilities while protecting friendly C2 capabilities against such actions.

InfoChess® uses a strategy that incorporates each of these elements into our learning game. InfoChess® teaches how C2W enables a leader to shape his competitor’s perception of the situation, and it enables students to play on the giving and receiving ends of this information competition.
