About
InfoChess®
By adding a few specialized rules to the ancient wargame of chess,
we have developed a new boardgame that provides a cost-effective
means for raising awareness and educating strategists, tacticians,
negotiators, and creative thinkers about information operations.
InfoChess® combines the tangible nature
of boardgames, the baseline knowledge of chess in our population,
collaborative (team-based) exploration, and the low cost of using
chess as an educational aid to deliver an informative and exciting
learning experience.
In the game of InfoChess®, you actively
use information operations to gain the competitive advantage needed
to attain your objectives. The key to InfoChess® is the cunning
use of resources to gain information dominance over your opponent.
Strategic Simulation
and Wargaming
The board game credibly teaches the principles
of Command and Control Warfare (C2W). According to joint doctrine,
C2W is the integrated use of psychological operations (PSYOP),
military deception, operations security (OPSEC), electronic warfare
(EW), and physical destruction, mutually supported by intelligence,
to deny information to, influence, degrade, or destroy an adversary’s
C2 capabilities while protecting friendly C2 capabilities against
such actions.
InfoChess® uses a strategy that incorporates
each of these elements into our learning game. InfoChess® teaches
how C2W enables a leader to shape his competitor’s perception
of the situation, and it enables students to play on the giving
and receiving ends of this information competition.
