The Introduction to Linux Security course is an intensive 2.5-day training experience led by seasoned Information System Security and Technology professionals. This course provides practice in advanced Information Systems Security skills to support the protection of information and information systems within a DCID/JAFAN 6/3 environment. During the course of instruction, the student will be able to apply Linux security features in order to adhere to requirements for Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability. Each student will have the opportunity, through practical exercises and hands-on labs, to configure a Linux workstation to comply with DCID/JAFAN 6/3 technical security requirements for a Protection Level Two system.
Hands-on labs and demonstrations will provide the student with the knowledge and confidence to address the current Government technical and non-technical security requirements in a rational and practical manner.
The cost per student for an open enrollment Introduction to Linux Security course is $2,400 which includes a presentation of the 2.5-day course, course textbook and reference materials. Light morning and afternoon snacks are provided.
Maintaining Your 8570.1 Certification
This security course is worth 20 Continued Professional Education (CPE) points. In order to maintain your Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification you need 120 CPE's within a 3-year period, and the minimum number of CPE's per year is 20.
The Linux Security course can also be purchased as a dedicated presentation. The fixed price for the course is $37,500. This course may be conducted in a suitable customer provided facility or in our computer lab in Herndon, VA. The cost includes a presentation of the 3.5-day course for a maximum of 14 students, course textbook and reference materials for each student. Additional costs will be incurred for use of the Herndon computer lab.
