• The Network Monitoring Center, a 24x7 operations center that is staffed by specially trained security professionals charged with continuous monitoring of special-purpose network and host-based security tools designed to identify events that may pose a threat to DoS networks/systems. The NMC staff is responsible for conducting research into possible causes of events, identifying intent, analyzing potential impacts, and reporting findings to the Computer Incident Response Team.
• The Bureau of Diplomatic Security’s Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT), provides centralized reporting of computer security incidents on DoS and foreign affairs agency networks. CIRT coordinates the resolution of these events with operational managers, law enforcement agencies, and other government agencies affected by cyber events.
• The Cyber Threat Analysis Cell, a team of information security professionals and intelligence analysts that adds a proactive intelligence information and data analysis element to the DoS’s cyber security efforts by providing insightful descriptions and analysis of threats – and potential threats – to the DoS information technology critical infrastructure.
