Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Systems Administrator to join our team in the Fallon, NV area.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Implementing operating systems and network devices security configuration in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) approved Security Technical Implementation Guides.
  • Administering boundary devices (i.e., managed switches, proxy servers, routers, firewalls, cryptography, and intrusion detection systems).
  • Performing vulnerability assessments using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker, incorporating automated Benchmarks.
  • Correcting flaws and implementing technical controls in the hardware or software installed within a network environment.
  • Managing DoD Host-Based-Security Systems (HBSS).
  • Overseeing campus-scale (multiple buildings with hundreds of users) server installations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of experience as a computer/server systems administrator performing the responsibilities listed above
  • Demonstrated experience using the DoD Information Assurance Vulnerability Management Program (IAVMP)
  • DoD Approved Baseline Certification as Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, (i.e., GSEC, Security +CE, SSCP and Vendor certification and IT Training Provider certificate for network environment main operating system)
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proactive personality with the ability to work with limited guidance and supervision
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills; adept at managing competing priorities and initiating projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field of study is required.
  • An additional 7 years of experience as an IT technician on DoD classified networks may be substituted for degree.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • This position requires an active U.S. Government Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
