An Interview with ManTech Employee, Miguel
Title: Executive Director-Cyber Solutions Architect
Time at ManTech: less than 1 year
What drew you to ManTech?
The opportunity to be a part of a new focus at ManTech, the Center for Complex Cyber Solutions (C3S). The organization reports to the highest levels of leadership within the company and lets me work on technically complex cyber problems that “matter.”
What is or has been the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
The most interesting job I ever had was as an actor.
How do you balance career and home life?
I am active in my church and I have a number of healthy hobbies, such as acting, writing, playing basketball and more. The activities help me stay committed to ensuring a healthy work-life balance.
If you are a veteran, what branch did you serve in? How long? What was your job?
I have a little more than 21 years of military experience and I have had the unique opportunity to serve in multiple service branches. I was a gunnery sergeant with the Marine Corps Reserve for 14 years and worked as a Recon Marine; I was a lieutenant with the Navy Reserve for 6.5 years serving as a cryptologic warfare officer and I was a captain in the Air National Guard serving as a cyber warfare officer for about six months.
What advice do you have for prospective ManTech candidates?
Don’t be afraid to bring good ideas to the table for evaluation.
What do you like most about ManTech?
The genuine alignment to, and focus on, the customers’ missions. The coolest thing I’m working on now is identifying our customers’ hard problems and developing the solutions that may be “needle movers” for the entire industry.
What does “Securing the Future” mean to you?
Securing the future to me means anticipating the attacks and innovations (as well as the time-tested technologies) that will be a part of the defensive “stack” of the future and bringing those capabilities to our current and future customers where it’s needed in an outstanding fashion.
