As ManTech’s Executive Chairman, George J. Pedersen guides the company’s overall strategy and direction, overseeing mergers & acquisitions and facilitating other significant corporate activity. He also serves as Chairman of ManTech’s Board of Directors.
Mr. Pedersen helped start ManTech in 1968 with a dream and a single contract to supply high-end modeling and simulation services to the U.S. Navy. Now in its 50th year, ManTech provides innovative technologies and solutions to mission-critical programs for the intelligence community, the Departments of Defense, State, Homeland Security, Health and Human Services, Veterans Affairs and Justice, and the space community.
Under Mr. Pedersen’s strategic leadership, ManTech began trading on the Nasdaq in 2002, when it had $400 million in annual revenue. Today, the company has since grown to $1.9 billion in annual revenue, both organically and through more than 25 major acquisitions. The global professional team of nearly 8,000 employees optimizes advanced technologies in the ubiquitous environment of cyber, enterprise IT, systems engineering and software development, and critical analytics.
Mr. Pedersen has left an indelible mark in the defense, intelligence and federal civilian industries. He has been honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association for Corporate Growth National Capital Chapter, received the James Forrestal Industry Leadership Award from the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) for his “demonstrated record of business accomplishment” and his active role in “helping to preserve and strengthen the nation’s defense industrial base.” The NDIA selected him for his “astute business judgment, keen political instincts, and a broad understanding of the vital role the industrial base plays in ensuring the nation’s security.”...Expand
Mr. Pedersen has received the prestigious Eagle Award from Federal Computer Week magazine and twice was named to its highly coveted Federal 100 list. He was selected for “his leadership in the federal technology sector” and as the person from industry “who has gone above and beyond to make outstanding industry contributions.”
