Eric Mellinger joined ManTech as an Account Executive for the Marine Corps National Security Division in January 2019.

 

He currently leads 13 other BD Executives to develop and grow business in the U.S. Defense/National Security Markets.  He previously served as the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) Defense Reform Staff Lead after retiring as a senior leader in the U.S. Marine Corps.  He was responsible for developing Chairman Mac Thornberry’s legislation to reform DoD’s acquisition of warfighting capabilities, overhaul procurement processes, and encourage change to legacy approaches to Defense pursuit of warfighting capabilities.  During his 30-year military career, he commanded during multiple, global crisis response missions.  He commanded from the platoon to regimental levels and led hybrid staffs of over 500 members for combat operations and disaster relief in:  the Middle East, Africa, and the Indo-Asia-Pacific Region.

Mr. Mellinger received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Factors Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy.  He holds a Master of Science degree in Military Studies from the Marine Corps University and an additional Master of Science degree in National Security Strategy from the

National War College, National Defense University.  He is also a graduate of the Marine Corps’ School of Advanced Warfighting.

Mr. Mellinger is a seasoned combat veteran as a Marine leader.  He served as an infantry officer in Southwest Asia during Operations DESERT SHIELD/STORM, in the Balkans during Operation JOINT ENDEAVOR, in Africa during Operation ASSURED RESPONSE, in the Philippines during Operation ENDURING FREEDOM-P, in Iraq during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, and in Afghanistan during Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.  He is a recipient of two Combat Action ribbons.

Mr. Mellinger is a member of the National War College (NDU) Alumni Association, USAF Academy

Association of Graduates, Global SOF Foundation, AFCEA, and the Japan-U.S. Military Program.
