The Veterans Affairs mission is, “To fulfill President Lincoln’s promise to care for those who have served in our nation’s military and for their families, caregivers, and survivors,” and with Veterans comprising nearly 50% of ManTech’s employee base we are dedicated to supporting that mission.  Our commitment to the VA goes back decades, and we plan on continuing our support for decades to come.   

Delivering capability  

ManTech develops cutting-edge solutions using Agile, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe^(R)) for larger programs, and DevSecOps methodologies. Our teams of experts use both commercial off-the-shelf software, low-code no-code platforms, and custom software products to ensure program and mission success. We are flexible and fluent in the many approaches to software development and can work seamlessly across software teams and development methodologies.  

ManTech recently completed a SAFe^(R) transformation for a large portfolio of specialty EHR products, introducing flexibilty and streamlining resource requirements. With legacy code bases, and complex deployment requirements, our tailored SAFe^(R) approach is increasing flexibility and speed to deliver value to users, while also saving approximately 25% against previous costs.  

ManTech also successfully modernized and migrated to AWS cloud a suite of systems supporting specialty care, national quality surveillance, and transition to value-based care. For this transformation, ManTech utilized many cloud-native capabilities, introducing significant savings over the legacy architecture which carried an expensive software license tail. Again, employing a tailored SAFe approach and DevSecOps with a fully automated deploy on demand pipeline with full control over released features.

Reducing friction while securing the enterprise  

ManTech fosters trusted partnerships with government agencies and strengthening the security of the nation’s critical infrastructure without getting in the way of customer experience is a key outcome. ManTech implements IAM, MFA, PAM RBAC, ABAC, ZTA and continuous monitoring for enhanced security.  Adherence to best practices and regulatory standards contribute to overall success.  We designed the model which is guiding most Defense and Federal implementations of Zero Trust. Examples include our tailored ICAM solution that strengthened access controls and identity management across the Department of Homeland Security and our identity provisioning, access management, and identity verification processes that ManTech at the Department of State which streamlined user provisioning. 

As a premier provider of full spectrum Cyber services across the Federal Government, ManTech also brings an “offense informed defense” to VA. This can take many forms, from designing resilient and secure networks, to operating efficient and effective AI-enabled network and cyber operations. As sophisticated advanced persistent threats and insider threats continue to expand their impact for federal and commercial healthcare providers, the VA needs the cyber solutions ManTech provides more than ever.

Driven by Data 

ManTech has been at the forefront of investing in data-driven capabilities, including the latest advancements in Machine Learning and AI. We provide an advanced cloud-native AI acceleration platform, based on our best-in-class work for federal customers. While much of the world is experimenting with AI, we have been operationalizing it for years, including an advanced ML-Ops pipeline approach, bringing the DevOps approach to Data Science. Using this approach, our PhD data scientists conceive, build and refine models to gain operationally relevant insight into complex streams of data from multiple sources, supporting human decision making with the speed and insight of the most advanced data-driven insights. 

We have also developed a cyber- and HIPAA-friendly generative AI capability, designed to bring the benefits of this burgeoning market to our federal customers, who cannot allow their sensitive data to be ingested by the commercial offerings capturing the public’s imagination such as ChatGPT.

Recent Experience in the VA 

ManTech has supported more than 80 VA programs valuing over a half-billion dollars in the last 10 years. We have supported Health Interoperability, Enterprise IT, EHR modernization and sustainment, and many other missions which give us insight into where VA has been, and where it is going next.
