This year, ManTech is unveiling a new program to advance employees’ cyber competencies, fund college-level instruction, and create a trained workforce of cybersecurity professionals through our partnership with Purdue University Global’s Cybersecurity Registered Apprenticeship program.

Participation in this apprenticeship program provides an additional avenue to enhance career mobility for existing employees and develop a pipeline of new employees within the cybersecurity space to serve our nation’s security needs.

The program extends the range of education initiatives ManTech currently offers our employees through Purdue University Global that equips them to grow their capabilities and their careers.

ManTech’s Partnership with Purdue

In 2017, ManTech and Purdue University Global partnered to offer a unique opportunity to employees to eliminate up-front fees, minimize their expenses, and earn a bachelor’s or master’s degree. Eligible employees have the ability to complete degrees in cybersecurity, cloud computing, or information technology online with 100% tuition covered.

The Advantage Tuition Grant, in combination with ManTech’s employee tuition assistance benefit, is designed to cover the difference between eligible ManTech employee tuition assistance and the tuition cost of a Purdue Global undergraduate or graduate degree. Once employees maximize their ManTech tuition assistance benefit, the Advantage Tuition Grant kicks in to cover any remaining costs.

ManTech’s partnership also allows our employees to pursue preparatory courses for the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP®) certification exam and the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification exam. These preparatory courses provide more in-depth subject knowledge while also resulting in college credit that can be applied towards a degree.

The partnership has continued to evolve since 2017, first by adding a Bachelor’s degree in Cloud Computing, developed jointly with experts from both Purdue and ManTech, as well as the CEH preparatory cohort.  Next on the agenda – degree programs in analytics.

“As our customers pursue IT transformation and modernization, they can rely on ManTech people with proven expertise in cyber that takes digital to the tactical edge – ensuring mission success, peak performance of new virtual systems, and end-to-end cybersecurity,” said Kevin M. Phillips, ManTech president and CEO.

Recruiting New Talent – Our Cybersecurity Registered Apprenticeship Program

This apprenticeship program through Purdue University Global provides a new channel through which ManTech can identify, attract, evaluate and recruit apprentices – new employees -- who can satisfy contract requirements for available national security positions and quickly receive valuable cybersecurity training.

By onboarding apprentices into this program, ManTech is leading the industry in providing innovative solutions to meet critical cybersecurity needs.

Upon hire, we will fund academic and technical training for them through ManTech’s agreement with Purdue Global.

Further, Purdue Global’s apprenticeship program is registered with and approved by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) as a cybersecurity support technician program — a national standard.

This training benefits both apprentices and key customers in the defense and intelligence sectors alike.

Conclusion

At its core, ManTech’s primary competitive advantage is our people – the employees who work each and every day to help federal agencies achieve their missions and, in so doing, safeguard America.

ManTech’s close partnership with Purdue University Global exemplifies our commitment to our people – and our investment in programs that help them build upon their technical skills and advance their careers.
